Abstract

1280208 Steering wheels KEENWOOD (COLNBROOK) Ltd 25 Sept 1970 [29 July 1969] 37956/69 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] A steering wheel has a retaining device 8 which bears against a leather sheath 9 surrounding the steering wheel rim in the region of a spoke 2. The device 8 comprises a first part 11 covering the front side of the outer end 4 of the spoke i.e. that side facing the viewer in Fig. 1, and a second part 18 covering the rear side. The first part 11 has a rearward projection 12 engaging a hole 7 in spoke end 4, and also has two rearwardly projecting flanges 13 embracing the sides of end 4. The second part 18 has lateral projections 15 which slidingly engage grooves 14 in flanges 13, and a forward projection 16 engaging hole 7. The outer end of device 8 is U-sectioned to facilitate bearing against the sheath 9 (Fig. 2, not shown).
