Abstract

QUE APPLIQUEE SA 24 Nov 1969 57436/69 Heading F2D In a vehicle hydrostatic transmission comprising a pump 1 and a motor 3, the pump displacement is controlled by an hydraulic signal 27 responsive to the speed of pump 1 and to the working pressure in the hydrostatic transmission. As shown, an angine driven pump 11 produces the signal 27, and a variable exhaust valve 13 connects the line 27 to exhaust and is adjusted by a servo 15 controlled by the high pressure in line 4 or 5 between the pump 1 and motor 3. The pump is of the reversible axialpiston type, and is adjusted by a servo 9 controlled by a pump 35 delivering through a threeposition valve positioned by a double acting piston 19, 20 on which the signal 27 acts. Valves 25, 26 facilitate reversal of the pump 1. Again, the pump 1 may be irreversible, valves 25, 26 being omitted together with piston 20, and the device 42 for adjusting the pump 1 may be replaced by an hydraulic amplifier. The pump 35 provides make-up fluid through check valves 33, 34, and lines 4 and 5 have pressure relief valves 30, 31.
