Abstract

1279266 Fluid-pressure lifting bag MFC SURVIVAL Ltd 16 Nov 1970 [20 Nov 1969] 56893/69 Heading B8J A fluid pressure lifting bag, primarily for emergency rescue work such as lifting a crashed vehicle or holding trench shorings in danger of collapse, is made of flexible fluid impermeable material. The bag comprises top and bottom panels 1, 2 with zipped-in protection pads in pockets 7. Restraining webbings 5 extend between the panels 1, 2, pass through them and are secured thereto. Central and radial restrainers (9, 10), Fig. 2 (not shown) are also provided. The bag may be inflated through an inlet 3 by carbon dioxide from a pressure cylinder, engine exhaust or pressurized water. An outlet 4 is provided for deflation.
