Abstract

1278409 Making dynamo-electric machines L SCHULER GmbH 25 Sept 1970 [26 Sept 1969] 45836/70 Heading B3A Dynamo-electric machine lamination blanks are formed with a central aperture, first cutouts 10, 11, 18 or 19 symmetrical about the axis of the aperture, and an additional cut-out 12, 13, 20 or 21. Rows of identical blanks 6, 7, 14 or 15 are stamped out of a wide, rolled strip 1, which is thinner at its edges than at its centre, and so the blanks have a generally trapeziform crosssection. The blanks are fed individually to a first station (23) at a turntable device of a slotting machine, Fig. 4 (not shown), and then transferred to a work station (24), where each blank is centred by a mandrel 29. A rotating magnet 27 turns a ring 28 and a solenoid 32 moves a spring- loaded head 34 upwardly. The head enters the cut-out 12, 13, 20 or 21 in the blank, the magnet continuing to turn as its travel is 400 degrees. The next blank is engaged by a head 35 which is diametrically opposite the head 34 so that adjacent blanks are at 180 degrees to each other. The blanks are moved to a slotting station (25) and to a station (26) for removal from the device. The laminations are then stacked and the stack is of rectangular cross-section in its axial plane, Fig. 6 (not shown).
