Abstract
1278198 Valves NORMALAIR-GARRETT (HOLDINGS) Ltd 19 April 1971 [18 March 1970] 12937/70 Heading F2V Temperature responsive valve, e.g. for fuel supply or transfer systems, comprises a valve body 12, 13 containing a valve member 19 having separate closure surfaces 20, 20a which seat simultaneously on seats 18, 18a in the body. The valve controls flow between an inlet 15 and outlet 17 and is ported at 31, 31a so that inlet pressure has access through the interior of the valve member to the seat remote from the inlet end, whereby the fluid pressures on the valve member are balanced. The valve is actuated in opposition to a spring 22 by a stack of bimetallic temperature responsive elements 24. A continuous flow round the stack is maintained through a second, uncontrolled outlet 16.
