Abstract

127,783. Thompson, J. Nov. 29, 1918. Rotary sieves. - A cylindrical screen is divided into longitudinal sections by wheels B, C, D fixed to a rotating shaft, and into radial sections by imperforate plates F that extend from the shaft to the periphery of the screen and carry inclined vanes G serving to propel the material along the screen. The plates F are bolted to the arms of the wheels, and the wheel A at the feeding end has its arms formed with lips P that act to feed the material into the screen. The sections of the screen are of different mesh and deliver into separate hoppers; they are secured to the peripheries of the wheels and to the edges of the plates F by straps R.
