1277622 Automatic exchange systems SIEMENS AG 1 Oct 1969 [2 Oct 1968] 48141/69 Heading H4K In a TDM, PCM exchange, a conference call is set up by inserting the signals from one station into a store during a time slot allocated to this station and by non-destructively reading-out the contents of the store during each of the time slots allocated to the other stations of the conference. As shown, series or parallel PCM signals from each station (on MSa) are inserted into respective stores ZSpl ... ZSpn during respective time slots under the control of Go highway circulating memory Ua. At the relevant time slots of the other parties, the stored signals are read-out to Return highway MSb under the control of circulating memory Ub. The stores ZSp comprise a plurality of bi-stable trigger stages (one per bit of an information message). Read-out from such a store is obviously non-destructive since sampling of the output of each stage will not affect its state. Entry of new signals into store during the corresponding time slot of successive frames causes the existing signal to be erased.
