1276448 Incinerating closets STANDARD PRODUCTS CO 19 Aug 1970 39919/70 Heading E1C [Also in Divisions Fl and F4] Human waste products from a toilet in a human conveyance are collected in a tank C from which the liquid component is fed to either the inlet manifold or the exhaust mani fold of a fuel burning engine, e.g. the engine for driving the conveyance. The conveyance may be a camping vehicle or trailer having an internal combustion engine E, as shown, or may be a bus, boat or airplane. The engine may be spark ignition or compression ignition, or may be a turbine. In the embodiment of Fig. 3, the waste liquid passes via filter 32 to a pump D operated by an eccentric 22 on engine camshaft 24, the eccentric causing reciprocation of a lever 38 having a lost-motion connection to a rod 36 secured to a diaphragm 34 which is urged upwardly by a spring 37, the arrangement being such that diaphragm 34 is reciprocated to pump the liquid via inlet and outlet valves 30, 46 to a float chamber 50 until, upon closure of an inlet to the float chamber by a valve 54 operated by the float 52, back pressure in pipe 48 causes the diaphragm to remain depressed. The liquid is then sucked out of the float chamber at a rate dependent on engine speed via a jet 62 associated with a venturi in an induction pipe to which petrol is also metered via a separate jet 92 under control of a butterfly valve 112. Waste liquid flow to the jet 62 is cut off when the engine temperature is below a predetermined minimum by temperature sensitive element 68 acting on a valve stem 66.
