Abstract

1276022 Agglomerating finely divided materials INTERNATIONAL MINERALS & CHEMICALS CORP 25 Aug 1969 [4 Sept 1968 (2)] 42328/69 Heading C1A An agglomerate of finely divided material is held together by a pincher comprising a water soluble acrylic acid-polyhydroxy polymeric graft copolymer or water soluble salt thereof, or a mixture of said copolymer or salt and a bentonite clay. The polyhydroxy compounds specified are certain cellulose, starch, saccharide, and glycol derivatives and P.V.A. (lists given) and 1-10% is used, based on the weight of acrylic acid. Preferably 0À002-20 lbs. of graft copolymer per ton, and 0-30 lbs. of bentonite clay per ton, of the wetted mass of material, are used. The specified material is iron ore.
