Abstract

1,274,497. I. C. engine induction systems. NISSAN MOTOR CO. Ltd. Aug. 12, 1969, No. 40234/69. Heading F1B. Air drawn through a filter 16 and controlled by a throttle valve 12 is fed to respective cylinder intake manifold branches 20 to 23 of equal length from a manifold chamber 19 divided by a partition into two sub-chambers 25 and 26 of substantially equal volume. Cylinders which fire consecutively communicate with different sub-chambers. A fuel injection pump 11 supplies injectors 13 immediately upstream of the intake valves 14. The throttle valve may be mounted in a passage communicating with the partitioned chamber intermediate its ends, Fig. 4 (not shown).
