Abstract

1,274,145. Stabilized polyurethanes. MOBAY CHEMICAL CO. 2 April, 1970 [3 April, 1969], No. 15589/70. Headings C3C and C3R. Polyurethanes are stabilized against microbial degradation by incorporating therein a stabilizing amount of 10, 10<SP>1</SP>-oxy-bis.(phenoxarsine). Both porous and non-porous polyurethanes amy be stabilized. The stabilizer may be incorporated by addition to the starting materials used to form the polyurethane or to the polyurethane product. It is preferred to use the 10,10<SP>1</SP>-oxy-bis-(phenoxarsine) with a carbodiimide and carbon black as a stabilizer system. 0À02 to 0À2 parts by weight of 10,10<SP>1</SP>- oxy-bis-(phenoxarsine) per 100 parts by weight of the polyurethane are suitably used.
