Abstract

1,273,970. Printing apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG NURNBERG A.G. 19 April, 1971 [9 April, 1079], No. 25565/71. Heading B6C. A flexible printing plate 1 is secured to a plate cylinder by bent-over ends 2 and registered by engagement of pins on the cylinder and on a rotatable plate-tensioning bar within the cylinder with cut-out portions in the ends 2. The edges 10 of the cut-out portions may be folded against the plate edges to provide reinforcement. The cut-out portions may be located at the sides of the ends 2, or in their centres, and may be open-ended slots or apertures surrounded on all sides by the bentover ends 2. Reinforcement may be provided by glued-on eyes in place of the folded edges 10, and the bent-over ends may be folded upon themselves for additional stiffening.
