[Also in Division B3] A mould for the moulding of thermoplastic materials comprises a shell of metal having a shape defining at least part of a mould cavity which is impregnated with a curable resin. The metal shell is preferably zinc or aluminium having a thickness of from <SP>1/</SP>16 inch to 1/ 4 inch. Suitable resins are epoxy, polyester resins and amine aldehyde or phenol aldehyde condensation resins. The impregnated surface may be plated with another metal layer preferably with copper, nickel or chromium to a thickness of from 1/ 4 to 1 thousandth of an inch.
