1,273,512. Vehicle head rests. K. HERZER [trading as KURT HERZER] Aug.27, 1970 [Sept.2, 1969], No.41253/70. Heading A4J . The head rest is rigid to prevent excessive deflection of the cervical vertebrae and comprises a rigid planar frame (not shown) supported by and in the plane of struts 1 for height adjustment and supports a rigid arc-shaped member 4. A hollow, energy-absorbing deformable shell 6 and a thin padding 10 progressively absorb impact shocks. An apron 9 protects rear seat passengers from impact on the struts 1.
