A high-power film projector has a lamphouse comprising a Xeron lamp L, an ellipsoidal mirror 1 contained in a double-walled housing 2, 4 defining water-jackets 12, 13 through which cooling water is passed by way of tubes 7, 8, 9, there being inner and outer concentric air passages defined by tubes 15, 17, 19 directing cooling air, from duct 6 outwardly along the inner and outer surfaces of reflector 1 by means of aperture 1a. Tubes 15, 17 are flanged at 16, 18 to direct the air outwardly.
