[Also in Division G1] A tachometer for measuring the angular speed and total revolutions of a shaft 10 (Fig. 1) comprises a disc 9 with a plurality of equispaced teeth 11 and strips 12 which pass through a gap in a first coil 7 to produce pulses from a first circuit 3 which are fed to a frequency meter, and the outer periphery is formed of two dissimilar parts 13, 14 which pass through a gap in a second coil 8 to produce one pulse per revolution from a second circuit 4, which are fed to a counter.
