Abstract
1,272,032. Gutting fish. VOLKSWERFT STRALSUND VEB. 26 Sept., 1970, No. 45927/70. Heading A2U. Fish which have been beheaded are conveyed, between a pair of endless belts 1, 1' provided with spikes 6 to grip the fish, past a pair of rotary cutting discs 2, 3 of different diameters, the arrangement being such that the smaller diameter disc 3 cuts only into the abdominal cavity, on one side of the backbone of the fish, while the larger diameter disc 2 cuts right through the fish, on the other side of the backbone, to divide the fish into two parts which are then conveyed by the belts along diverging guide members of a guide structure 4. The discs 2, 3 are preferably mounted on a common shaft, and a clearing member is mounted on the shaft between the discs to remove the guts of the fish. The two halves of the fish are further cleared and cleaned by rotary conical brushes 5 fitted in apertures in the guide members. The belts pass over treminal rollers 7 and are guided by simultaneously adjustable rollers 8, 8' so that the spacing of the belts immediately in advance of the cutting discs 2, 3 can be varied. Presser rollers 10' are urged by springs against the belts 1, 1' to press the fish halves against the rotary brushes 5.
