Abstract

1,271,941. Passenger gangways. H. W. EDGHILL EQUIPMENT Ltd. 13 May, 1969 [1 March, 1968], No. 10140/68. Heading B7J. [Also in Division E1] Mobile steps for aircraft passengers comprise two flights 3, 4 telescopically mounted on a van, the upper flight 4 being supported by a slidable frame 32 at each side of the flight, the frame sliding on guide rails 34, 35, 38 and 39 mounted on the assemblies 9 and 8 associated with flights 4 and 3 respectively. An hydraulic jack 16 moves the upper flight, and jacks 10 are employed when the steps are in use. An upper platform 7, and an intermediate platform 5 are provided, together with a slidable assembly 12 with a collapsible hood 13 which can adapt to the shape of the aircraft fuselage.
