Laths.-In a boring lathe or machine of the kind having a boring-bar 10 pivoted at 13, the bar 10 has a tracing-roller 31 on a bracket 17 adjustable laterally by a screw 18 and pressed by a spring 34 against a pattern-bar 51 on the inner edge of one of the sides of the bed 1. A bearing, such as a block 16, is provided to work on the bed 1. In cases where the tool works with a downward thrust, the block 16 may be formed with a segmental undercut portion engaging a similar extension on the saddle 14; or a separate saddle with a cross-slide carrying a second pivot pin may be provided. The axis-pin 24 uf the roller 31 is preferably made of such a size as to allow the roller to be lifted through the bearing in the bracket 17. The spring 34 is arranged to be readily detachable.
