Abstract

Regulating.-To avoid leakage past the injection valve of fuel that is supplied under cnntinuous pressure to holes in its seating, a valve is placed in the fuel pipe and actuated simultaneously with the injection va ve. The quantity of fuel which flows from the valve is regulated by varying the resistance to its passage. It may flow through a helical groove on a cy inder which slides in another cylinder, thus varying the effective length of the groove, or by a labyrinth produced by a number of spaced and perforated circular disks mounted on a rod by which they are moved in and out of a cylinder.
