Abstract

1,269,608. Disazo dyes. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 14 Oct., 1970 [14 Oct., 1969], No.48835/70. Heading C4P. Disazo dyes, which are free from sulphonic or carboxylic acid groups, have the formula wherein K 1 and K 2 are identical or different radicals of coupling components and R 1 and R 2 independently are hydrogen or substituents. K 1 and K 2 are advantageously 2-hydroxy naphthalene-3-carboxylic acid arylamide or acetoacetic acid arylamide or 1 phenyl-5-pyrazalone radicals which may be optionally substituted. R 1 and R 2 may be halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or nitro groups. The dyes are prepared by tetrazotizing diamino- 3-phenyl-quinazolones of general formula and coupling with coupling components K 1 H and K 2 H. Examples of the dyes produced are The dyes are used for dyeing plastic masses, paper or lacquers and may be incorporated in pigment pastes and printing colours.
