Abstract
1,267,832. Heat treating carbon steel. LICENCIA TALALMANYOKAT ERTEKESITO VALLALAT. April 16, 1969, No. 19550/69. Heading C7A. Lightgauge cold-formed carbon steel workpieces having a carbon content not exceeding 0À5% and a thickness not exceeding 7 mm. are quenched from a temperature above the critical point to a temperature in the range 150 to 470‹ C. and held at that temperature for a sufficient time to allow complete transformation to martensite. The steel may contain 0À5 to 1% manganese, and quenching may be carried out from 30‹ to 90‹ C. above the critical temperature. The treated steel may have a yield strength of not less than 40 kg/mm<SP>2</SP>.
