Abstract

1,266,613. Reciprocating pumps. G. STETTER. Oct. 28, 1969 [Oct. 30, 1968], No.52852/69. Heading F1A. A reciprocating pump for concrete comprises a pumping cylinder 1 alternately connected to a supply hopper 7 and a discharge pipe 31 by a rotary valve 2, the movable member 16 of the valve being shaped, to provide an acute angled path from the hopper 7, via inlet 10, to cylinder connection 13. When the movable valve member 16 is in its other position (chain lines), concrete expelled from the cylinder only has to flow through a slightly curved path from cylinder connection 13 to discharge connection 32. The axes 34, 35 of the connections 13, 32 are parallel. The valve has an external operating arm rotatable by a fluid operated actuator. To facilitate cleaning the valve may be swung about a pivot 28 away from connection with the hopper. Two pumps may be mounted sideby-side on a road vehicle and fed from a common hopper, Figs.3 and 4 (not shown). (For Figures, see next page)
