Abstract

1,266,486. Tumbling toy. M. GLASS [trading as MARVIN GLASS & ASSOCIATES], 2 March, 1970 [8 Aug., 1969], No. 9871/70. Heading A6S. A toy has an H-shaped frame 12 and axles 14 and 16 rotatably mounted in the frame. Pulley wheels 40 and 42 are mounted on the axles and coupled with a continuous band 44, so that the axles 14 and 16 rotate together. Feet, 46, 48, 50 and 52 are also connected to the axles, each being round with tangential connections, terminating in planar ends, 48c, 50c and 52c, which provide a base about which the toy pivots. Suction cups 54 and 56 are connected to the underside of the axles. Finger 66 and the corresponding finger 68 (not shown) extend from the frame and pry under the periphery of the suction cups as the toy advances end-over-end down a vertical surface. Thus, as cup 54 approaches the surface, the finger 66 will commence to prise cup 56 from the surface. Gravity will then pivot the toy about axle 16.
