Abstract

Compounds of the general Formula (I) (X=O, S; Y=H, halogen, N0 2 , allyl, aryl, aralkyl; n = integer; R = alkylamino, dialkylamino, 1-pyrrolidinyl, piperidino, morpholino) and their acid addition salts and methiodides are prepared by (a) reacting a compound of the Formula (II) with POCl 3 in the presence of pyridine and reacting the product with R(CH 2 ) n OM (M= alkali metal), or (b) reacting an alkali metal derivative of (II) with R(CH 2 ) n X (X=halogen) and separating the isomers obtained, optionally followed in either case by methylation and/or salt formation. The above compounds are local anaesthetics, antihistaminics, anti-inflammatory, analeptic and spasmolytic agents, and have a cardiocirculatory action and an action on the nervous system.
