1,264,730. Coil former. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 9 Sept., 1970 [12 Sept., 1969], No. 43148/70. [Heading B8M. A coil former for use in an electrical coil between the metal core and the windings thereof is formed from a sheet of insulating material e.g. synthetic resin, which is bent at right angles to form a tube so that the two parallel side edges 13, 15 overlap each other and are secured together, the overlapping side edges 13, 15 being bevelled to the same angle on the sides facing each other, and the bevelled portions substantially covering each other. The side edges are preferably bevelled to an angle of from 4 to 10 degrees relative to the plate of the sheet. The coil former is formed from a sheet having on one side four grooves extending parallel to the side edges 13, 15, the angle of the apex of each of which calculated in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the grooves is between 90 and 110 degrees.
