Abstract

1,263,516. Vehicle bogies. ROLLS ROYCE Ltd. 21 Aug., 1969, No. 41764/69. Headings B7D and B7L. [Also in Division F2] In a vehicle bogie comprising a pair of axles 16 having bearings 15 surrounded by elastomeric bushes 40 carried by side members 13 of a bogie frame, the total thickness of each bush 40 in the vertical direction is less than that in the horizontal direction so as to provide spring- ing that is softer vertically than horizontally. The bush is annular and has two parts 14a, 14b each having an arcuate aperture 46 therein. Alternatively the bush could have a -circular inner periphery and an oval outer periphery. The bogie is substantially the same as that disclosed in Specification 1,192,723. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,192,723.
