Abstract

1,261,683. Terminal blocks. HEGO ELECTRIC G.m.b.H. 5 March, 1970, No. 10589/70. Heading H2E. An electrical terminal block 1 containing at least one terminal 4 has a base 2 with recesses 18a, 18b such that the block may be mounted in either of two orientations on a symmetrical rail 13 (shown in dotted outline) or an asymmetrical rail 3, sloping edges of the recesses aiding turning of the block through 90 degrees, about a vertical axis, for removal of the block from the rail. When a plurality of terminal blocks are mounted side by side on a rail, oblique lugs 9 'of one block fit into recesses 11 of an adjacent block to define channels, all sides of each channel tapering towards a respective terminal 4. A tapered pin 6 on each block also engages a correspondingly tapered recess (7, Fig. 4, not shown), having ribs (8) for gripping the pin 6, in an adjacent block to locate the blocks together. Adhesive may also be used to secure the blocks together.
