Abstract

1,260,835. Cutting tools. WICKMAN WIMET Ltd. 1 April, 1969 [2 April, 1968], No. 15757/68. Heading B3T. In a cutting tool having a shank 10 with a removable insert 16 secured by a clamping member 17, there is provided a chip breaker 23 which is slidably displaceable in a recess 22 in the clamping member by an eccentric 31. The chip breaker is reformed in the clamping member by a bent flexible member 25 which engages a slot 26 in the chip breaker to urge it against the opposed side of the recess 22. The eccentric is retained in a bore 33 in the clamping member by co-operating surfaces 34, 35 and 36. The clamping member, chip breaker, and eccentric are removable from the tool shank as a complete unit.
