Abstract
1,259,745. Photo-copying apparatus. COMPAGNIE EUROPEENNE POUR LA TECHNOLOGIE DE L'INFORMATION. March 23, 1970 [March 24, 1969], No.14013/70. Heading G2A. A photo-copying machine includes a document support table comprising two C-shaped section members 31 sliding on two rails 36 fitted into the hollows of the C's, the rails being secured to the machine and the members 31 being connected by a transparent plate 34; a device (not shown) for supplying sensitized paper; an exposing device (not shown); a fixing device (not shown); ejector fingers (43, 44), Fig. 2 (not shown) for delivering a finished copy through an exit slot 42; and a driving mechanism which drives all the moveable members of the machine, there being drive mechanism control switches in the path of the coller-fed sensitized paper. Sequence of Operation. An original 35 to be copied is placed on the plate 34 with one edge adjacent a cross member 32 of the support table, a slider 38 then being aligned with the opposite edge of the original. One of the control buttons 40 is depressed so as to start a motor driving a chain 2 through a wheel 1. An electromagnetic clutch 20 is engaged with a wheel 6 driven by the chain 2, and the support table is moved to the light (as seen) until the edge of document 35 adjacent the member 32 is above a slot 37. Another control button is depressed, engaging an electromagnetic clutch 21, thereby starting the supply of sensitized paper. As this paper advances, it tups a switch adjacent the exposing device which lights a lamp and engages an electromagnetic clutch 19 with a wheel 5, thereby conveying the document 35 past the slot 37. Shortly before the slider 38 passes the slot 37, it activates a first contact of a switch 41 which cuts off the supply of sensitized paper and actuates a guillotine. When the rear edge of the document passes the slot 37, a second contact of the switch 41 is actuated to de-energize the lamp and change over the clutches 19, 20 so as to return the document support table to the right, while the trailing end of the exposed sensitized paper is advanced to the fixing device. The copy is then ejected.
