Abstract

1,258,538. Spray producers. MONARKCRESCENT A.B. 19 March, 1970 [2 April, 1969], No. 13253/70. Heading B2F. [Also in Division A4] In a surface cleaning system pulses of liquid are supplied at high pressure to a surface to be cleaned, the nozzle being moved during each pulse from a position adjacent said surface to a position farther away therefrom to increase the sprayed area on the surface. A system for cleaning a vehicle headlamp glass 2 comprises a spray nozzle 5 carried by a pivoted hollow arm 9 through which pulses of liquid are supplied to the nozzle by a pump. As each pulse is discharged the reaction at the nozzle 5 causes the arm 4 to swing away from the glass 2 against the action of a spring (not shown). In one form of nozzle liquid is discharged between the projections of a starshaped washer 13 held between the head of a screw 14 and a frusto-conical surface 12 on the nozzle head 8.
