Abstract

1,258,091. Cycle lamps. W. J. HILL (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd. 10 Dec., 1969 [7 Jan., 1969], No. 846/69. Heading F4R. A cycle lamp comprises a body forming a battery housing and provided with a bulb and a transparent closure, a member for attaching the body to a cycle, means mounting the attachment member on the body for angular adjustment relative thereto and means for holding the attachment member in a preselected angular position, a part of the mounting means being located within the battery housing. A plastics battery housing 10 contains two batteries 11 therein, a switch 28 and has a snap-on transparent cover 14. In an aperture 16 in the housing is a mounting 15 having two rotatable plugs 17 and 18 which together with plate 20 are fastened by screws 19. The members 18 and 20 have recessed portions 23 and 24 to accommodate a cycle stay. Separate screws may be used to fix the plugs-17 and 18 to the housing and fix 20 to the plugs. In another embodiment (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the clamping plate 20 is replaced by a socket (27) to fit on a lamp bracket.
