Abstract

1,255,733. Vehicle washing apparatus. FOGAUTOLUBE S.A. 14 Feb., 1969, No. 8023/69. Heading B7J. [Also in Divisions B1 and B2] A vehicle cleansing apparatus comprises a water tank 5, a detergent tank 6, a pump 8 for forcing the water through a pipe 10 and flexible hose 11 to a spray nozzle 20 and a compressedair supply for forcing the detergent through a second pipe 44 to the spray nozzle 20, an adjustable liquid valve 48 being located in the pipe 44 to control the flow of detergent. The tanks are carried by a wheeled carriage 1 which also carries a device 67 for heating the water in the pipe 10. The pump 8 is operated by the compressed air supplied through a pipe 9 and detergent is displaced from the tank 6 by means of the compressed air supplied from the pipe 9, through a pipe 40, a regulator 41, and a pipe 42, to the top of tank 6. The displaced detergent leaves the tank by means of a pipe 44 which terminates near the bottom of the tank, and which extends along the tube 11 and terminates at the valve 48. The tank 5 is provided with a pressure relief valve 24 comprising a spring- loaded ball (30), Fig. 3 (not shown). At the free end of tube 11 is a tap having a handle 13, and a tube 12 at the end of which is screwed a sleeve 14 carrying a jet 17 and filter 18. A rigid tube 55 carries detergent from the valve 48 and is connected to a flexible tube 56 which opens into the nozzle 20 on the end of the jet 17.
