Abstract

1,255,706. Bearings. HITACHI Ltd. 3 Feb., 1969, No. 5670/69. Heading F2A. A radial rolling bearing assembly comprises an inner race 7 mounted on a shaft 1, an outer race 5 in a bearing cover, and lubricant chambers 120, 121 axially adjacent to and opening only into the bearing volume. Air spaces 130, 131 communicating via a passage 132 are situated axially adjacent to the lubricant chambers. The chambers are provided with radial flanges 124a, 125a for mounting, and may be made of metals or thermoplastic resins, such as polyethylene terephthalate or polyamide resins reinforced by glass fibres. Annular seals 128 may be provided.
