Abstract

1,255,479. Clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. 3 Jan., 1969 [5 Jan., 1968], No. 898/68. Heading E2B. [Also in Division F2] In the combination of a first member 10 having a bore 12 therethrough and a second tubular member 18 which extends into or through the bore and is retained in position by a circumferentially continuous rib 15 which extends radially inwardly from the wall of the bore and frictionally grips the wall of the tubular member 18, the internal periphery of the rib is defined by two surfaces 11a, 12 one of which, is frusto-conical and which are inclined to one another at an acute angle forming thereby a sharp circular edge. As shown, a member 16 of plastics material integral with the member 18 is retained on an apertured panel 17 by means of the member 10 which is in the form of a washer of plastics material which is a force-fit over the member 18. The washer is applied by means of a tool 20 comprising a spring-loaded plunger 21 which enters a bore in the member 18 and centralizes the member with a recess in the nose of the tool into which the member is received as the nose forces the washer over the member.
