Abstract

125,419. Roe, A. V. July 8, 1916. Screw propellers. - A number of laminated blades, say four, formed with sector-shaped roots are assembled and bolted together in the manner shown. Loose plates E<1>, E<2> having ridges f fit closely on the shoulders D formed on the outside surfaces of the root surfaces, and bolts G pass through the fixed flange B, roots C<1>, C<2>, C', C<4>, loose plates E<1>, E<2>, and the loose flange H. Additional smaller bolts g are used where there is room, and the flanges are lightened 'by means of holes I. In a modification, dished plates are fitted instead of the plates E', E<2>.
