Abstract

1,252,813. Airfield landing lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 5 June, 1970 [10 March, 1969], No. 12486/69. Heading F4R. [Also in Division H2] An airport runway light fitting comprises a shallow inverted dish-shaped non-ferrous metal easing 31 with a manganese bronze lamp housing 34 secured in a recess 33 in a central depending boss portion 32. Opposite openings 35 in the housing are aligned with channels 36 in casing 31 and contain reflectors 37 and lenses 38. Colour filters 39 may be secured to the easing and a glass ring 42 bounds the optical system assembly. Tungsten halogen lamp 1 is secured by mounting disc 9 to lamp-housing 34 and one connecting lead pin 10 locates the lamp in a predetermined position relative to the optical system. Metal braid held against the pinch-seal of the lamp conducts heat to the casing (see Division H2).
