Abstract

125,230. Tai-Koo Sugar Refining Co., (Obrembski, M., and Resker, H. C.). April 16, 1918. Carbon. - Decolorizing-carbon is prepared by impregnating vegetable material, for example wood chips, saw dust, coco-nut husks, straw, or hay, with an equal weight of calcium chloride applied in aqueous solution and evaporating to dryness under vacuum, carbonizing at 600-800‹ C., washing with acid and water, and finally drying and grinding.
