Abstract
1,251,997. Selective printing. TELETYPE CORP. 6 Nov., 1968 [9 Nov., 1967; 8 Jan., 1968], No. 52523/68. Heading B6F. A writing-jet printer comprises a nozzle 110 issuing a stream of uniformly charged droplets towards a printing medium 117, rejection electrodes 115 whereby unwanted droplets are deflected so as to be prevented from reaching the medium 117, and scan electrodes 116 for causing the selected droplets to fall on the medium 117 in a raster. The rejection electrodes 115 are coupled to an amplifier 120 supplying rejection pulses, and the scan electrodes 116 are supplied with a sweep signal from a generator 118. Rejected droplets are stopped by a mask 112.
