A swimming pool wall section 10, Fig. 1, comprises a plurality of horizontally extending wall panels 11, Fig. 2, secured to and supportedby spaced vertical posts 17, each panel 11 having vertically separated leg parts 15 by which it is secured to the posts 17 and a portion 14 intermediate the leg parts 15 and having what, in a completed pool, will be an inner surface curved convexly in vertical section, the sections 15 being covered by a pool liner 20. A rectangular below-ground swimming pool comprises four wall sections 10 joined by corner members 43 which include quarter cylinder sections (46), Fig. 5 (not shown) having inner concave surfaces. Each section 10 is supported by adjustable members 30, Fig. 2, each comprising a lower brace 32 and an upper telescopic brace 31, lower ends of the braces being pivoted to a plate 33 transverse to an angle member 34. A coping 13 is supported by a coping support 21, outer edges of the coping 13 resting on a deck 9, Fig. 1, and inner edges having a socket portion which retains an upper edge of liner 20. The angle members 34 and base parts of the sections 10 are secured to the underlying ground by pins 41. Each section 10 may be formed from prefabricated units (19), Fig. 3 (not shown). The liner 20 is preferably made of plastics material and the remaining members of the pool are preferably of extruded aluminium.
