[Also in Division C2] A bactericidal and algicidal composition comprises as active ingredient a N-tetrahaloethylthiocarboxamide of the formula: wherein R is H or CH 3 and R' is a tetrahaloethyl group in which each halogen is Cl or Br, in association with an inert diluent or carrier therefor. Examples are given in which compositions are prepared and tested.
