[Also in Division H5] An apparatus for electroslag remelting of metals comprises a cooled mould 5, means 2 for bottom pouring slag into the mould, and a mechanism 7 for feeding consumable electrodes 8 into the mould, said mechanism being mounted on the mould. The electrode is suspended from a current conducting ring 10 supported on the hydraulic mechanism 7 which is in turn supported on brackets 6 attached to the external wall of the mould. A dummy bar 4 is held in position by a device 3.
