Abstract

1,249,914. Trench covers; shores. O. BURGESS. 14 Jan., 1970 [17 Jan., 1969], No. 2935/69. Headings E1E and E1G. A temporary cover abridging a trench in a road surface e is provided with depending plates b which are pressed apart by a screw jack d to support the trench sides and thus increase the load-carrying capacity of the cover. As shown one plate b is welded to the cover a, while the other is movably mounted thereon. (For Figure see next column)
