Nuts are introduced into container 1 and are raised upwards therefrom on the pins of disc 7 which rotates about the horizontal axis shown, and are moved past springs 19, 20, 21, 22 and part 24 so as to ensure the correct orientation of each nut which is then discharged down shoot 17.
