Variable-speed and reversing gearing for motorvehicles &c. comprises two driving disks 1, 2 fixed on an engine shaft and a driven disk 4 which may be adjusted axially on the driven shaft 5, and is movable laterally into contact with either of the disks 1, 2. The disk 4 is movable axially by a hand-lever 6 and movable laterally by a pedal 7 connected with the propeller shaft 5.
