Abstract

1,249,357. I.C. engine fuel injectors. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Dec.19, 1968 [Jan.30, 1968], No.60498/68. Heading F1B. [Also in Division H1] In a solenoid-operable fuel injector for lowpressure intake manifold injection systems comprising a winding 5 surrounding a soft iron core 3 and an armature 6 between the core and a plate 10 with a nozzle opening 11, fuel is supplied to an annular passage 12 surrounding the nozzle sealing face 9 of the armature through bores 14 extending through the armature and opening tangentially into the annular passage. The bores 14 extend from the armature peripheral surface (15), Fig.3 (not shown) and are inclined with respect to the armature axis in the direction of the sealing face 9. Fuel flows to the bores 14 through a filter 26, the bore 27 of a sleeve 22 screw threaded into the core 3 for adjustment of the armature spring-loading, slots 28 in the armature 6 and annular cavities 29. The armature is located coaxially of the core 3 by a slotted leaf-spring 16 with a flexible diaphragm 17 thereon to seal the slots.
