124,820. Alley, S. E. April 25, 1916. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Bore-hole apparatus. - In a system oi' laying pipes underground from a trench or cutting by forcing them forward by a machine, means are provided for lubricating the soil. In the arrangement shown, the guiding-head II described in Specification 13709/15 is employed, and the first length of pipe A is closed at each end by disks C, D. In the disk D is fitted a non-return valve E, and a discharge valve G in the front disk. The pipe is partly filled with water or other liquid, and air is pumped in through the valve E. In operation, the liquid escapes slowly through the valve G.
