Abstract

1,247,917. Calculator for yarn cleaner. ZELLWEGER Ltd. 13 Nov., 1968, No. 53748/68. Heading G4B. A device for indicating the size of the yarn faults, in cross-section and length, which will be eliminated by an electronic yarn cleaner for any given settings of two controls thereof, comprises a transparent chart 200 having one or more limiting curves 3, 12, 20, 30, 40, 70, each corresponding to a respective setting of one of the cleaner controls, which chart is superimposed on a chart 100, on which various possible faults are representatively displayed using a logarithmic scale for either or both the ordinate and abscissa axes. The charts are superimposed with their ordinate axes coincident and the origin of chart 200 is positioned with respect to the origin of chart 100 in correspondence to the setting of the other cleaner control, whereby all the faults which will be eliminated by the cleaner for any given settings, will be represented by those on chart 100 lying above the selected curve on chart 200. The representations of the faults may be photographs, and may be arranged in groups which consist of different faults with the same effective diameter. The faults are displayed in a co-ordinate system with increasing length being recorded along the abscissa and increasing diameter along the ordinate.
