A metal scaffold board 10 has a generally channel-shaped cross-section with inwardlydirected J-sectioned. flanges 11, 12, 13 and pressed-out transverse indentations 14. Channel-sectioned end pieces 15 are welded in position. The board is preferably of mild steel with a non-skid, corrosion - resistant coating, although it may alternatively be of an aluminium alloy.
