[Also in Division C2] An insecticidal composition comprises at least one inert carrier and as an active ingredient an insecticidal active amount of cyclopropane carboxylic acid ester of formula wherein Y is an oxygen or sulphar atom, R 1 is a hydrogen atom or methyl group, R 2 is methyl, 2-methyl-1-propenyl, 2-methoxycarbonyl-1-propenyl, phenyl or 3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl group when R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group when R 1 is a methyl group, R 3 and R 4 which may or may not be the same are a halogen atom or a methyl group, m and n are zero or an integer of 1 to 3, and (R 3 ) m and (R 4 ) n can each represent more than one of said meanings when m or n is greater than unity.
